Camp: Day 1

the first thing i notice when we turned in was the orange bus parked in front of DJ.
fine, i was wrong. i expected the bus to arrive later.

we all gathered and were asked to write down our handphone numbers.
*rolls eyes*
it's not like leannza, keli, yimay, sze yin, eva and loads of other librarians don't already have my number.

(yes, i know i'm going to get a comment from a certain wordsworthfan, saying how its a security measure and blahblahblah. i know it is.

got a call from dear yi qian. he couldn't come to see us. n blahblahblah. forgot what he sadi already. haha

anyway. we gawked at gheek's small bag and wondered how he could possibly have fitted all his essentials in there.

the bus left early. another surprise. i remember in 2007, we were sitting in the unmoving bus for more than an hour before it started. how nice.

d journey was... quite boring. not long enough though. some crazy librarians started playing cards. in the bus. and we formed a six-brained team which eventually won the game. haha

arrived early at melaka. obviously, the journey did not take 3 hours. that would be madness. we could get as far as muar or somewhere in that time using my dad's car.

we were given... erm. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6! hours to explore melaka. and eat lunch. and dinner.she has a "taking picture" pose

JUMP IN!

first, we went to get some FOOD! haha. chicken rice ball. what else?

leannza and the form 4 gang came to the same shop later.

we visited a few places. erm. christ church, erm. nvm. i cant rmb. i just know that 6 hours was way too long.

ok, we literally walked till we wanted to drop. shopped a little in jonker gallery.
we bought this drink in a glass bottle that looked like it was alcohol but didnt actually contain any.

gheek purposely tore off the wrapper and drank it in front of pn m. haha. then we decided to laze about on the bridge. we passed the chicken rice ball shop where we ate a while ago and saw a massive, ok not so massive but a long queue.

the librarians can't keep out of a library... even if its packed with chinese books.

then, we spotted a guy in the melaka river. swimming? catching fish? we couldn't tell.
so gheek went to find out.

apparently, he was looking for old coins. he even showe gheek one but he said there were no markings. oh well. it was probably too old.

then we decided to do jump shots. haha.

after aimlessly walking around, we decided to return to the quayside. took stupid pics of us "advertising" the drink. lol. and got a pic of gheek acting drunk. had coconut jelly. really refreshing.

coconut jelly anyone?
lol. drinks
he's drunk

then we walked about in the mall or whatever it is for half an hour.

returned to the bus and told pn m, amazing race style that she was the last team to arrive and was eliminated from the camp. lol.

took ages to get to eagle ranch. we were like, opne hour behind schedule. so ice breaking was postponed.

the dorm wasnt as bad as we expected. it had air cond and stuff. they even provided us with towels, which we were not expecting.

but

BUT

the toilets were like. ew.

we freaked out when we saw it. the shower rooms had like half door. on top, you can actually see people's faces and at the bottom, you can see their legs. and they couldnt lock.

in the end, the gys had to wait for all the girls to bathe first. (we took 3 hours to bathe. just the girls)

mafia-ed the rest of the night till lights out. gheek thought us to play bluff. or bullshit.
jes kept bullshitting people at the wrong times. haha. she was damn cute.

and pn m had to come and chase the guys back into their dorm. lights out was at 12 but some people played cards outside and annoyed the whole dorm of girls because they were too loud.

and thats the end of day 1.
